Shel Myeroff, CPC, founded Direct Recruiters, Inc. in 1983. Over the past 25 years, he has earned a reputation as a leading search professional by building lasting relationships and delivering outstanding results to his clients. His integrity, insight and vision have helped raise the bar in the recruiting industry. Shel has positioned DRI as a consultative partner to companies in Supply Chain Automation & AIDC, Healthcare Automation, RFID, RTLS, Asset Tracking, Mobile Enterprise, Enterprise Software, Identification Labels, Packaging and Material Handling. He consistently serves as a problem-solver to clients and candidates.

Dan Charney, Managing Partner of Direct Recruiters, brings a unique blend of executive search perspectives and recruitment techniques to his clients in the Packaging, Capital Equipment, Material Handling Systems, Supply Chain Automation, Data Collections, and RFID. As a seasoned search professional with over 10 years experience, Dan provides clients with meaningful consultation, talent assessments, and quick identification of key individuals fitting specific cultures and challenges.
Dan is a co-founder of the Ohio Association of Executive Search Professionals, Cleveland Chapter. In addition, he is a member of NAPS, RFID Tribe, and IOPP. He is often interviewed and quoted in well-known trade publications including Food & Beverage Packaging Magazine, Material Handling Management Magazine, and the MHIA e-Mhove Newsletter. Dan holds a Bachelor Degree in Communications from The Ohio State University and resides with his family just outside of Cleveland.
David Peterson is a Managing Partner for Direct Recruiters. He manages and oversees DRI search and recruitment teams in the Plastics and Flexible Packaging industries.
David is an accomplished recruiter and has built a reputation for understanding client needs from executive search to direct contributor roles. They appreciate his in-depth industry knowledge, comprehensive understanding of job market conditions and future industry trends. David and his team offer both retained and contingency search options and their search completion rates are consistently among the highest of the firm.
David is a current and active member of the Society of Plastic Engineers, Cleveland Chapter for the Ohio Association of Executive Search Professionals and served as their Chapter Chair for 3 years. In addition, he is a member of National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS). David is often interviewed and quoted in well-known trade publications such as Business Solutions Magazine and most recently has been invited to pen hiring advice articles for Flexible Packaging Magazine. David is married and has 2 daughters. He enjoys being with his family, competing in racquetball tournaments, coaching girls’ soccer, and camping.
Jason Herbert is committed to quality and results. He has a strong desire to develop and maintain long-term relationships with client companies. His goal is to help them not only build the right sales teams but partner to fill top level executive positions including marketing and engineering. Jason's attention to detail, assessment abilities and broad business understanding make him a valuable resource to clients and candidates alike. As the Director of Packaging, Processing and Material Handling, Jason works closely with companies in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and warehouse and distribution to develop strong and lasting partnerships. He brings over 7 years experience in industrial sales and new business development. Jason is a 1999 graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and holds a B.S. in Health and Sports Studies.
Robert Cohn has been a vital contributor to the placement of exceptional talent in client companies. As a result, he has been named Director of our Automation Practice with a special emphasis on Electrical, Industrial, Sensors & Controls, Robotics, Packaging, and Material Handling industries. His focus is on bringing top notch candidates in Executive Management, Business Development, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Tech Support together with clients looking to fill key positions. Robert's clients view him not only as a business partner but as a trusted advisor. In addition, his outgoing nature and sense of humor help him build long lasting relationships. Robert brings a strong consultative background and previous experience as an outside sales executive where he offered solutions to complex business challenges. He attended The Ohio State University where he majored in business management. Robert is married and has two boys, Chase and Reed.
Mike Silverstein is spearheading the expansion of DRI’s Automated Healthcare Solutions Division including Active/Passive RFID, RTLS, EMR, Pharmacy Automation, HIS, Clinical Software, Revenue Cycle Management, Electronic Document Management, Transcription, Spend Management and other technologies.
Mike's diverse background helps him to identify exceptional Sales, Sales Management and Engineering candidates and bring them together with clients from emerging companies to Fortune 500 corporations. Mike’s consultative style along with his personable approach enables him to develop trusted relationships with clients in order to deliver high caliber talent capable of leading companies in competitive and fast changing business environments.
Mike graduated Cum Laude in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He is a Cleveland sports fan, enjoys music, socializing with friends and discussing politics.
Through her previous experience in sales, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship, Cherie Shepard brings a variety of perspectives to her position as Project Coordinator. She is able to quickly comprehend clients' unique needs and identify high caliber talent compatible and capable of working in their specific environment. In addition, Cherie's background is the basis for her superior relationship management abilities. Her friendly, outgoing personality and sense of humor immediately puts clients and candidates at ease. Cherie is committed to performance, quality, and positive results. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Cleveland State University and serves as President of a local organization for women. She is married and has two children.
Gina Mancuso serves as Director of the Life Sciences & Pharmaceutical Technology practice with special emphasis on Instrumentation, Formulation Sciences, Filtration, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Genomics, Proteomics, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Bio-pharaceuticals, Laboratory Information Systems, Consumables,Drug Research & Development, Nanotechnologies, Personalized Medicine as well as a number of additional disciplines in Life Sciences.
Gina is an experienced search professional and formerly served as the Senior Account Manager with DRI’s Healthcare IT practice. Her focus is on bringing top notch candidates in Executive Management, Business Development, Operations, Sales, Sales Management, Lab Manager and Engineers together with clients looking to fill key positions. Her infectious personality, business ethics, and excellent follow-up skills enable her to build long lasting business relationships. Gina earned her Bachelor in Communications at DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana. She enjoys working out, live concerts, Cleveland sports teams, and spending time with friends and family.
Ryan Lange serves as Project Manager and is helping to build the Physical Security and Public Safety market segments. His previous experience in automotive recruiting and outside sales enables him to quickly comprehend client needs and recruit progressive talent able to deliver profitable results. Ryan is energetic, dedicated, and driven to succeed which is evident by his distinguished title as the winningest wrestler in Purdue University’s history. His athletic accomplishments include two-time Big Ten Champion and two-time All American. In addition, he served 3 years as a Division 1, NCAA wrestling coach.
Ryan is an avid Cleveland sports fan, enjoys biking, jogging and coaching youngsters in wrestling.
Josh Olgin, Project Manager, works closely with Dan Charney, Managing Partner, to expand the DRI focus on the Robotics industry for both industrial applications and life sciences. With over 12 years in the mortgage industry, Josh understands the importance of listening to client needs and developing strategic partnerships. In addition, Josh has what it takes to put the right candidate in the right chair. He is known for his dedication and tenacity, never stopping until the job is done. Josh attended The Ohio State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Cleveland State University. His hobbies include staying fit and following the Cleveland Browns, Indians & Cavaliers. In addition, he is a die-hard OSU Buckeyes fan. Josh resides in Solon with his wife and 2 sons.
Dave Bevington has been named as Project Manager for DRI’s Automation Practice. Dave works closely with Robert Cohn to help expand and cultivate the Industrial and Electrical Automation and Sensors and Controls segment. He brings a diverse background including past experience in sales and marketing and the ability to build and implement high-level business strategies. Dave’s approach and style enables him to easily connect with executive level talent and form long-lasting relationships and partnerships.
Dave’s creativity and ability to think outside the box is demonstrated by the several screen plays and he has written and a children’s storybook about to be published. He also sings and plays guitar as a member of a local heavy-metal band. With his boundless energy, Dave coaches youth football and is involved with his church and charitable activities. He is a football enthusiast with the Cleveland Browns being his favorite team and the Minnesota Vikings a close second. Dave earned his BS at Kent State University with a double major, psychology and marketing.
Gary Gardiner is the HVAC Team Leader and is expanding the HVAC, Temperature Controls, Mechanical Contracting, and Energy Services market segments for Direct Recruiters. His previous experience as a Sales Engineer and Director of Marketing in the HVAC industry, and 15 years as an HVAC industry recruiter, allow him unique insights into clarifying client needs and recruiting high level performers. Most recently he was the owner of Gary Gardiner Personnel Services and Management Recruiters of Chagrin Falls.
Gary has been interviewed by ACHRNews and the Cleveland Plain Dealer regarding HVAC career opportunities both nationally and locally. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and is active on the Board of Trustees of the Cleveland Sight Center. He earned his BSME from Stanford University and his MBA at CWRU’s Weatherhead School of Management.
Gary enjoys spending time with his wife and son, golfing, skiing, traveling, and SCUBA diving.
Andrew Doris serves as a Project Manager for the Healthcare IT Solutions Practice of DRI. He works closely with Mike Silverstein, Director,and fellow team member Brian Horowitz, to help expand this practice area through market research, candidate sourcing, and new business development. Formerly with Progressive Insurance, Andrew has experience and knowledge of client retention programs and ultimately acquired great communication and people skills. He knows the importance of listening to clients and candidates alike and works in the best interest of both. In addition, Andrew's enthusiasm enables him to approach each assignment with high energy and determination. He looks forward to the everyday challenges of his position and welcomes you to contact him.
Andrew is a graduate of Syracuse University Whitman School of Management with a major in marketing and entrepreneurship. In his spare time, he enjoys competitive tennis matches, following Cleveland sports teams, and a work / life balance that includes residing in Downtown Cleveland where there’s never a dull moment.
Brian Horowitz joins Direct Recruiters as a Project Manager for the Healthcare IT Practice. He works in collaboration with Mike Silverstein, Director, and fellow team member Andrew Doris, to facilitate existing search assignments by sourcing candidates, qualifying candidates, and generating leads. Brian is performance driven and results oriented. He shares one common objective with his team...to complete each search successfully while providing a positive experience for both clients and candidates. Before entering the search business, Brian worked for a healthcare firm to improve their marketing efforts and customer relationships. In addition, he transformed early eBay selling into a profitable Website business of re-selling limited edition Nike and Air Jordan sneakers. He brings an entrepreneurial spirit, high energy, and creativity to DRI.
Brian graduated from The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business with a major in real estate and a minor in entrepreneurship. His hobbies include playing basketball, working out, and collecting unique sneakers.
As a veteran in business administration, marketing communications and public relations, Barb Miller works closely with DRI's President and Managing Partners to develop business and marketing strategies, brand awareness, social media programs, PR opportunities, Website content,and collateral materials. She is focused on creating the right "mix" that will deliver the greatest impact and return. Barb earned her BSBA from Lake Erie College,Ohio. She is a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) Cleveland Chapter and a contributing writer for DRI's hiring advice articles that have been published in numerous trade journals. In addition, Barb volunteers her time and wordsmith talents to various local charities and fundraisers. She enjoys traveling with her family, working out at Contours Express,and gardening. Barb is married and has a daughter in college.
Rachel joined DRI as Director of Assessment Services. Rachel spearheads the program for administering validated pre-employment assessments to help companies gain knowledge and important information that go beyond a candidate's resume. Her goal is to evaluate as accurately possible a candidate's qualifications and fit for the job and thereby, help clients improve their ROI when hiring. She will be involved in all aspects of assessments offered including The Personnel Selection Inventory, Sales Professional Assessment Inventory, Pre-Hire Personality Profile, and background checks. Rachel earned her B.A. in Psychology from The Ohio State University and is currently working on her M.A. in industrial Psychology at Cleveland State University. She is a member of SHRM (Society for Human Resouce Management) and SIOP (Society of Industrial/Organizational Psychology). She brings a strong background in sales and human resources and previously worked for Eaton Corporation.
